First and Second Grade

I grew up in Christian home, where God was always talked about. I remember giving him my heart and life at a very young age. I went to college not really sure what I wanted to be, but then after spending a week working with children in a summer camp, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I graduated from Northwestern College in 2001 with a B.A. in Elementary Education and endorsements in reading and early childhood. I have taught in both private and public schools. I have taught many different grade levels and in many different settings. I have spent several years teaching in two different Title 1 schools in the state of Idaho, as well as a homeschool coop.

I have been married for almost 15 years, and my husband and I have been blessed with three daughters. I took some time to stay home and homeschool my girls. This is my first year at Ames Christian School, and I am thrilled to join a team of people dedicated to Christ and to students.

Second Grade

My name is Jill Wilson and I am the part-time second grade teacher. I grew up in a Christian home with parents who taught me the importance of attending church, reading the Bible, and verse memorization. At a young age, my mother helped lead me to the Lord. There weren’t a lot of changes since I was so young, but as I got older I continued to grow in the Lord. God has led my steps ever since and directed me to become an elementary teacher.

I attended Iowa State University where I received my Elementary Education degree with endorsements in social studies and reading. My teaching background includes 3 years in the public schools, 5 years in Christian schools, and homeschooling for 8 years. I love teaching no matter what venue, but I especially love teaching in a Christian school setting where I can pray with my students and guide them in the Lord. This is my 2nd time teaching at Ames Christian School and I am so glad the Lord has brought me back here. I look forward to a wonderful year working together with parents to help shape their children in the Lord.
