Students read about igneous rocks on Friday

Today we will learn how to organize our notes and learn more about how igneous rocks are made and how they are classified.
Tuesday 18: We continued our study of igneous rocks today instead.
- MOVE CONTENT TO WEDNESDAY. Today our topic is sedimentary rocks and learning how they are formed and what they are made of.
- There are a lot of vocabulary words students will need to be familiar with.
Wednesday 19: MOVE CONTENT TO THURSDAY
- Metamorphic rocks are our topic today. We will learn how they were formed and what makes them change.
ASSIGNMENT: Read pg 68-70
Thursday 20: MOVE CONTENT TO MONDAY

We will do a lab that helps us understand the difference between each of these kinds of rocks and how they are formed.
ASSIGNMENT: Lab report needs to be completed.
Quiz tomorrow over first three lessons.
Friday 21:MOVE to MONDAY also.

We will summarize the lab and take our rock quiz TUESDAY.
Math 7th and 8th
Monday 17
- 7th: Finish fraction and decimal worksheet for Tuesday. We will also work on the problem solving activity with the 8th graders.
- 8th: Students will do a problem solving activity and correct lesson 41
Tuesday 18
- 7th: Ratio and simple probability is our topic for today.
ASSIGNMENT: PS 36: (Pg 216) a-j,1-5,19-29 (odd)
DUE THURSDAY - 8th: We will learn lesson 42, which challenges students to find the overall average of a set of data.
ASSIGNMENT: PS 42: (pg 121) 1-30 Assignment Due Thursday. Test Thursday

7th: We will do a review assignment in order to prepare us for the test on Thurday.

8th: Students will correct their lesson 42 and we will review key concepts. Students will also be introduced to the extra credit board.
ASSIGNMENT: Prepare for Test tomorrow

7th: Test today over lessons 1-36

Friday 21

7th: Lesson 37 teaches us more about how to find the area of triangles and rectangles.

8th: Lesson 43 continues to challenge us with using order of operation and how to convert area from one unit of measure to another.
