Bible
This month we will be working on the character traits of thankfulness and orderliness.  We will begin our study on thankfulness this week.  We will be studying Daniel’s example of praise to the Lord, as well as looking as ways we can praise the Lord.  Verse quiz over Philippians 4:6 will be on Wednesday.

Math
3rd - This week we will continue our unit on geometry.  We will study plain figures, lines of symmetry, parallel lines, intersecting lines, and congruent figures. 
4th - We will be completing a cumulative review over chapters 1-3.  We will review on Tuesday and Wednesday for a test on Thursday.  Then we will begin studying graphs.
5th - We will begin a unit on multiplication.  We will study multiplying by a one-digit factor, multiplying larger numbers, and estimating products.

Language Arts
Verbs are what’s happening in our classroom!  This week we will complete our unit on verbs with a test on Tuesday.  Then we will begin a new unit on adjectives. Adjectives are words used to describe nouns.

Spelling
This week we will be studying the words from Lesson 15.  Each day students will complete a workbook page.  On Monday the students’ assignment will be to use each of the spelling words correctly in a sentence.  Students may work on this assignment over the weekend, but the sentences are not due until Tuesday.  A final test will be given each Friday.

Reading
We will continue reading a classic by E.B. White: The Trumpet of the Swan.  The main character is Louis, a swan who is born unable to make a sound!  This week Louis travels to Boston and an unexpected visitor comes to see Louis!

American History
In History this week will continue to study colonial life in early America.  We be learning about schools and industry in America.  We will review on Wednesday and Thursday for a quiz on Friday.

Speak Out:  A volunteer has been working with the students on public speaking and the students will begin giving speeches this week!  There is a photograph permission slip for RSVP (the volunteer organization) in your student’s Friday Folder.
