Ames Christian School is seeking Elementary teachers for a 5th/6th grade combination classroom.  Preferred candidates see life from a biblical perspective and are great team players. 

ACS is accredited through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

The following are some essential requirements for this position:
  • Believes the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God, and is the person’s standard for faith and practice
  • Believes and actively supports the school's Statement of Faith and Family Life Style Policy
  • Has a valid ACSI certificate, or is willing to complete the requirements for certification
  • Has a valid Iowa teaching certificate, or is willing to apply with the Iowa State Board of Educational Examiners for a certificate
  • Will be committed to supporting and working collaboratively with the existing faculty

Ames Christian School seeks an experienced full-time 3-year-old Preschool teacher/childcare supervisor for our early childhood education program. We are seeking reliable candidates who are passionate about teaching, love and understand children, engage life from a biblical perspective, and are great team players.

Spiritual Qualifications:
  • Spiritually mature believer who demonstrates a personal commitment and relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Full agreement with the ACS Statement of Faith
  • Active member/regular attendee of an evangelical church whose beliefs align with the ACS Statement of Faith
  • Committed to Christ-centered education and the mission of ACS 
Professional Requirements:
  • BA degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education
  • Trained or willing to be trained in CPR and First Aid
  • Experience working with preschool children preferred
  • Plans, prepares, and leads daily games, projects and other age appropriate activities within the curriculum framework 
  • Pursues continuing education as required by the Department of Human Services 
  • Develops weekly plans and implements age appropriate curriculum (lesson plan) to nurture and stimulate all domains of children’s development in their care
  • Trains and supervises any volunteers or associates 
  • Secures substitute workers as needed, or works necessary shift if no subs are available
  • Supervised and evaluated by the Early Childhood Director and Administrator
